Open Question: Making post apocalypse guide, need help?

I want to start making a guide for surviving an apocalypse. Not saying the Myanmar calendar is predicting the end of the world, but an end to the world as we know it is imminent. The Main problem with our world at current is our dependence on electricity. Cut the power and how many people in civilization could survive? My plan is to compile information for the purpose of surviving in a world without electricity, government, and order. I need people that either know some good survival skills that most have long forgotten, or are willing to research it and write a chapter/report for the guide. Examples of some subjects that are needed: basics of farming, creating shelter, fire starting, hot-wiring a car..... Ect. If anyone is interested in working on this with me, post on here and I'll send you my email. This is a non profit project, all I can offer for help will be copies of the completed chapters/reports. Thanks and hope to get some great people to help. Many things could cause power outages over vast areas. One of my main concerns is emp from either the sun or some type of weapon, be it nuclear or just an emp device. I know in order for it to be useful it needs to be somewhat compact, that's why a farming section would haveto be basic, just enough to get someone going inthe rift direction. In my eyes there is going to either be an infastructure or government capse at some point on the future, and if government is gone, there wont be much order, without order the power plants will not be staffed. Therefore no power, eventually without power the nuclear reactors will start to shut down, with no one to fix them there will be churnoble events. But I guess this is the wrong section to look in for people that, if not because they believe that it's needed, might have fun learning some new subjects about survival. As for the car and house thing, you may not need to build a shelter (still good to understand the concepts of a basic shelter) but you will need to know bow to retrofit your house for defensive purposes. It will be a dangerous world if something were to happen to the government and there were no police to stop the criminals. You would need to learn to adapt to better survive. As for the cars, I give the general public such as the retail associates, and and general people who don't know a thing about survival, or only know how to get food by going to the store, I give them about a month before those people start dying due to conditions. There will be cars everywhere, and being able to travel long distances will be needed to collect supplies. Gas will be able to be collected from vehicles on streets for a little while, and Ive also heard of a process of making "wood gas" that can run a gasoline engine. And i mention to say Mayan, I was typing to fast and was using an iPo... Read More »
